Black Career Women (BCW) is a national organization headquartered in Cincinnati, OH. Although the organizations does not have chapters, its membership is national. The organization, founded in 1977 serves as a nucleus of support to identify and address the critical needs of black women in the workforce as it relates to their career mobility and achievement. BCW's members are diverse representing aspiring and achieving women workers from entry level to executive level.

BCW's website was launched in 1997 and maintains priority listing on most national search engines. Over 140 visitors view our site monthly, primarily black women job seekers and job changers, professional women seeking to expand their networks, develop skills, stay informed or to share insights and resources.

BCW's site is frequently visited by employers searching for black women to meet their diversity hiring needs, community groups attempting to expand the involvement of black women with their organizations, by executive search firms, by media seeking to spotlight black women achievers, by vendors seeking to market to our consumers, by women seeking mentors or to connect with other career-concerned women, especially those living or working in isolated locations. Whenever and wherever possible, BCW serves as an on-line connection for these various requests.

Many visitors seek answers to their career concerns and submit a myriad of questions to us. BCW provides job search assistance via an on-line service where women may post their resumes and review job listings. BCW also provides brief responses to inquiries, offers support and information if applicable and available, but does not provide extensive counseling via email, does not do research for job seekers and does not make our confidential database available to anyone for any purpose.

BCW does promote, via its website, Black Women Professionals and Business Owners, books, services and events that support the career development, health and well-being of black women and products targeted to the black woman consumer. All such website promotional requests must be submitted for consideration via email and are subject to review by BCW's Board.

BCW is a non-profit organization and uses its website as its primary communication tool to reach a national and increasingly international audience. Communicating via the web minimizes our costs and promotes our continued expansion.
