Katrina Ross
A 9-year veteran in the recruitment and staffing industry, Katrina Ross began her career working her way up from a receptionist to a Branch Manager. With her “actions not words” mentality, she has mastered all sides of the recruiting coin, in all industries, in both contract and generalist capacities. She has worked with two leaders in the staffing industry and has contacts throughout the country.
Ms. Ross is now the President and CEO of Skill Seekers – Corporate Recruiting Professionals, an executive search firm she started that is based in Los Angeles, CA. Skill Seekers prides itself on providing quality customer service to their clients throughout the United States. Skill Seekers provides its clients with access to skilled professionals who are an added investment to their company's future and an invaluable addition to their staff.
Prior to starting Skill Seekers, Ms. Ross worked as a Branch Manager for Culver Staffing Resources, a San Diego based, privately held staffing firm, where she received accolades such as the “Over the Top” award. She joined Culver Staffing with 6 years of previous recruitment and staffing experience having served as an Office Supervisor for a global leader in employment services, Adecco SA, registered in Switzerland and headquartered in Melville, New York with offices worldwide.
Since her entrepreneurial breakthrough with Skill Seekers, Ms. Ross has embarked on yet another business enterprise. She can now add to her accomplishments, The Black Business Source, Inc., an organization in which she is the Founder, Chairman and President. The BBS is the “premiere resource to locate, promote, support and network with African American businesses, organizations and affiliations.” The BBS is a non-profit organization that was formed in May 2002 and exists essentially to provide a national forum, database, programs and services, and various networking opportunities that increase the awareness of and the encouragement of African Americans in business. The BBS is not only dedicated to contributing to the wellness of African Americans in business but also in life. It strives to promote awareness among African Americans about business, health, social, youth and community opportunities and information resources.
In addition, Ms. Ross has begun another entrepreneurial venture having founded KDR & Associates, a business development & consulting firm (www.kdrassociates.com). She also belongs and takes part in a multitude of other organizations and business ventures. Not only an entrepreneur in her own right, she is also the Honorary Chairman for California for the National Republican Congressional Committee’s Business Advisory Board, an Independent Beauty Consultant with Mary Kay, on the Board of Directors as Director of Operations for Vision 2000, a non-profit organization bringing business minds together, a member of the International Virtual Women’s Chamber of Commerce, Inc. (IVWCC), a member of the National Association for Female Executives (NAFE), a member of the Association of Black Women Entrepreneurs (ABWE) and, a founding member of the Los Angeles Chapter of the National Association of African Americans in Human Resources (NAAAHR) having sat on their Board of Directors as 2001 Vice President of Sponsorship and Fundraising.
Various industry experiences were also gained during her tenure working for Hughes Aircraft EFCU and Mercury Insurance.
