Dr. Posey holds a BS from Cornell University and an MBA from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. She gained corporate experience working for AT&T Company in marketing research, project management, and technical training in New Jersey and Cincinnati. She has taught statistics at the University of Cincinnati and completed a doctorate in Educational Foundations at UC. Her dissertation was titled African-American High School Students in Mathematics: A Sociological View. In 2003 she completed the Harvard University Institute for Educational Management, an executive leadership program.
Since joining Cincinnati State in 1992, Dr. Posey has served as Assistant Dean, Director of Institutional Research & Planning, and currently Academic Vice President. As Academic Vice President she provides leadership for the library and all academic divisions (Business, Engineering Technologies, Health, Humanities, Information Technologies, and Sciences). Her professional activities include Cooperative Education Advisory Board Member for the College of Mount St. Joseph, Board of Trustees for Minorities in Mathematics, Science & Engineering, and Advisory Committee Member for Woodward Career Technical High School.
She is married to Rev. Dr. Michael J. Posey, pastor of St. Paul AME Zion Church in Covington. Their church work includes an educational ministry and the Michael J. & Monica J. Posey Endowed Scholarship at the College of Mount St. Joseph.
