Susan Arnold was appointed president of The Procter & Gamble Company’s Global Personal Beauty Care and Feminine Care businesses in 2002. The Global Personal Beauty Care and Feminine Care businesses include the skin care, personal cleansing, deodorants, cosmetics, fine fragrance, and feminine care categories. In this role, Susan has global responsibility for setting strategy, product and marketing development, and managing the profit and the organization of thousands of people across all functions. Together, these businesses represent several billion dollars in sales worldwide.

Susan’s career at P&G spans more than 20 years. Susan joined P&G in 1980 in the U.S. laundry and cleaning products sector. She advanced through a variety of marketing positions during the next 10 years and moved to Canada to lead P&G’s cosmetics business in 1990. Susan became general manager of the deodorant business in the U.S. in 1993 and was appointed an officer of the company in 1996. In July 1999, Susan was appointed president of Global Personal Beauty Care, which made her the first woman president of a P&G line division.

Susan is a native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a bachelor of arts in 1976 and earned her master of business administration from the University of Pittsburgh in 1980. Susan’s most recent awards include being named an Advertising Age Top Marketer, One of 21 to Watch in the 21st Century, a Year 2000 YWCA Career Woman of Achievement, and one of Fortune’s 50 Most Powerful Women in Business in 2002.
