Black Career Women (BCW) is pleased to announce that two BCW nominees, Dr. Monica Posey, Academic Vice President, Cincinnati State Technical and Community College and Carol Ruffin, Owner, Blossoms Florist, were recipients of the 2005 Leading Women's Award, presented at a gala luncheon, attracting some 700 guests, on March 10th at the Millenium Hotel. The sponsoring organization, Leading Women Inc., a non-profit coalition of over 50 local women's organizations (BCW being among them) bestows these awards annually to achieving working women in corporations, education, social services, law enforcement, community organizations, in business for themselves etc.

These kind of public recognitions increase professional visibility and are key to career advancement and business success. BCW executives and board members regularly serve on award committees to be in a position to nominate our members and associates for these important local, regional and national distinctions. Special thanks to Ann Keeling, BCW Sr. Vice President, Gloria Parker and Jenny Laster, BCW Board Members, for serving on these important committees.

Additionally, BCW congratulates Board Member Laura Carr who has been named President- Elect for the Leading Women's Organization!!
