4th National Diversity Forum For Women Hosted in Aftermath
of Cincinnati’s Racial Unrest (7/10/02)
Black Career Women, Inc. Hosts Can We Talk? ® Forum During Organization’s 25th Anniversary
CINCINNATI – (June 1, 2002) – Black Career Women, Inc. (BCW), a Cincinnati-based workforce and training diversity organization, today announced its fourth Can We Talk? ® National Diversity Forum for women, taking place on September 12-13, 2002 in Cincinnati at the Hyatt Regency. The event, held every two years, is hosted as part of BCW’s 25th anniversary and on the heels of more than a year-long episode of racial unrest in the Cincinnati area.
The two-day forum, entitled “21st Century Women at Work: Realities, Relationships, Results,” will focus on diversity among women in the workplace and will feature compelling speakers like Shelia Wellington of Catalyst, Cincinnati City Manager Valerie Lemmie, Ann Simonton, Sandra Guzman former editor of Latina Magazine and workshops led by diverse women from across the United States. The more than 500 women expected to attend this year’s forum will work to address the realities of today’s diverse workplace, discover methods for building successful relationships and develop practical solutions to diversity issues affecting their professional mobility and career development.
Key sponsors of the forum include The Procter & Gamble Company, Microsoft, Toyota Motor Mfg., American Family Insurance and Fifth Third Bank Charlotte Schmidlapp Fund.
